Holy Week Special: God's Call

In relation to the Holy week celebration, I was thinking to share my realizations from the past years.

When I was 14 or 15 years old, I was called by God to become a missionary. I was called by Him to be His instrument in sharing the Good News to the youths. I became a speaker on one of the Youth for Christ camps here in the Philippines. The venue was in Victorias City, Negros Occidental. The topic that was given to me was “Who is Jesus Christ to Me?”

At first I was just saying to myself, “Oh, this would be just like a reporting in school. Read it then explain.” But, no. As hours pass by, I realized that this is not just like a reporting in school. This would be the News that I should tell the world through the youths. And every word that I read and speak should be beared in mind and felt in the heart. So there, I ask myself, “Who is Jesus Christ to Me?” Then, I answered, “My Savior, My Lord, My Redeemer, My Provider”

As I read through the pages of the talk, I saw the words: Jesus Christ is crazy. After reading those, I was thinking that this talk is wrong. Because the word crazy is such a strong word that even us, normal people, don't want to be called at.

As I read the description, there I concluded that He is indeed crazy. It said that He is crazy because He gave His life just to save us from our sins. Then there I realize that He did that because He was crazily in love with us, a love that no one could give and can't be like others.

Remember my answers on the question “Who is Jesus Christ to Me?” well those are wrong. Because for me He is INDESCRIBABLE. No one could tell how great and powerful He is and no words can describe it.

Maybe you were wondering why I just shared it now and not 3 or 4 years ago. It's because, today, I can say that most people turn away from God and again, I can feel that He again called me to proclaim the Good News.

Let me share this to you:

Jesus and Alexander died at thirty-three;
One lived and died for self; one died for you and me.
The Greek died on a throne; the Jew died on a cross;
One’s life triumphed seemed; the other a loss.
One led armies forth; the other walked alone;
One shed a whole world’s blood; the other gave His own.
One won the world in life and lost it all in death;
The other lost His life to win the whole world’s faith.
Jesus and Alexander died at thirty-three;
One died in Babylon; and one on Calvary.
One gained all for self; and one Himself He gave;
One conquered every throne; the other every grave.
The one made himself god; The God made Himself less;
The one lived but to blast; the other but to bless!
When died the Greek, forever fell his throne of swords
But Jesus died to live forever Lord of lords.
Jesus and Alexander died at thirty-three.
The Greek made all men slaves; the Jew made all men free.
One built a throne on blood; the other built on love,
The one was born of earth; the other from above;
One won all this earth, to lose all earth and heaven.
The other gave up all, that all to Him be given.
The Greek forever died; the Jew forever lives;
He loses all who get, and gains all things who gives.

Let us all remember that Jesus is always there for us. What we should just do is that to go back to Him and believe in His glory.

I wanted to share also to you these songs, All for Love and At the Cross. Understand and feel their lyrics. These have a great impact to me and I hope it will have a great impact on you too.:D
